Opening a strategic class on public sector leadership

    In the morning of April 3, 2019, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics opened the class of Public Sector Leadership in the framework of the pilot extracurricular program for class A1 - the full-time senior class of political theory at Hanoi.

    Participants attending opening ceremony were Ms. Christine Charity, Counsellor of the Australian Embassy in Vietnam; Mr. Brendon Brooker, Second Secretary, Australian Embassy in Vietnam; Professor Robert Styles and Professor Exmond DeCruz, Public Administration School, Australian National University; Assoc. Hoang Van Nghia, Director of International Cooperation Department; Assoc. Le Van Chien, Director of the Institute of Leadership and Public Policy; Dr. Nguyen Van Luong, Deputy Director of the Training Management Department and a number of representatives from functional units of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, and 45 students of class K69.A01 (which includes students with experiences of studying, working abroad and in international environment).

    Strategic class on public sector leadership which aims at making impact on efficiency, performance and ability to work in a modern working environment was held during 3 days (from April 3 to April 5, 2019) to realize the Resolution No.26/NQ-TW dated May 19, 2018 of the 7th plenum of the 7th Central Party Committee on building a contingent of leaders and managers capable of working in the international environment; realize the cooperation program between the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and the Australian Embassy and the decision of the Academy President on modern-oriented training, international integration, especially in the framework of current advanced training program on senior political theory. The class focuses on the topics of leadership, public policy and providing leaders and managers with tools to enhance the effectiveness, efficiency and working ability of leaders, managers. The class lecturers were leading professors of the Australian National University of Crawford School of Public Policy on public policy.
