On the occasion of the 129th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19th, 1890 – May 19th, 2019), with the consent of The Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics’ Directorate, Ho Chi Minh Institute and leaders of Party held a scientific seminar on the theme: "Ho Chi Minh's thoughts about cadres, cadre work and application in the current period".
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quoc Ly, Vice President of the Academy, Assoc. Prof. Dr.. Tran Minh Truong, Director of Ho Chi Minh Institute and Party Leaders , Assoc.Prof. Dr. Le Van Loi, Director of the Department of Scientific Management co-chaired the seminar in the morning of May 16th.

Addressing the seminar, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Minh Truong highlighted the tremendous values of Ho Chi Minh's thoughts about cadres and cadre work from the theoretical and practical aspects. Each revolutionary stage has its specific historical task, with different requirements for building a contingent of cadres to fulfill its mission. President Ho Chi Minh's thoughts on cadres and cadre work have so far remained the theoretical values and deeply practical vitality for Party cadre work, serving as the guideline for building cadres at all levels, meeting the requirements of national industrialization and modernization and international integration.
In this seminar, the speeches focused on in-depth analysis and interpretation clarifying some contents such as: Ho Chi Minh’s perspectives on cadre work, applying Ho Chi Minh’s ideology about cadre work in the current period. The speeches clarified that President Ho Chi Minh were always fully aware of the requirements and tasks of the revolution to proactively set appropriate criteria to build a contingent of cadres, set out the right content and measures in cadre work, from selecting, training, fostering, evaluating, allocating, using staff, implementing staff policies, building a contingent of ethical, talented and intellectual employees. His viewpoints on cadres and cadres work are mainstream guidelines, which not only instruct ways for creating resources, arranging, using and treating officials, but also draw methodological issues to be a principle for the Party's cadre work.
On assessing the status of staff and cadre work during the past Renewal period , analyzing the new context nationwide and internationally, with strong impacts of the4th industrial revolution in all areas of social life, speeches at the Seminar all affirmed the need to continue systematically renewing f staff issues and personnel work basing on Ho Chi Minh's thoughts. During that process, it is necessary to thoroughly grasp the views and objectives of building cadres, continue to vigorously innovate the Party's leadership methods on cadre work; innovating thinking and ways, promptly dealing with weaknesses in each stage of cadre work. It is also essential to strengthen education and staff management, attaching importance to scientific research, building organizations and people working in personnel sector.
These contents must always be properly perceived, deeply grasped and flexibly practiced in the reality of Party’s work of cadres today. It is also a core and key issue to successfully implement the Resolution of the 12th Party Congress and the Resolution of the 7th Plenum of the 12th National Assembly about focusing onbuilding a contingent of cadres at all levels, especially at strategic level, to become qualified, capable and prestigious, to be compatible to their missions.

Giving concluding remarks at the seminar, Assoc. Prof. Dr.Le Quoc Ly affirmed that historical records have shown that Vietnamese revolution has won glorious victories thanks to and the talented staff who met the requirements of revolutionary tasks under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and trained by President Ho Chi Minh, the. The ideas at the seminar also showed that, at present, we need to continue thoroughly grasping the views and objectives of building cadres; continue strongly renovating the Party's leadership model on cadre work; innovating thinking and methods, promptly resolving weaknesses in each stage of cadre work; strengthening education and staff management. At the same time, we need to attach importance to scientific research, building structure and people working in personnel sector.
