Fifth writing contest on protecting Party’s ideological foundation launched

A press conference was held on February 6 to launch the fifth edition of a writing contest on protecting the Party’s ideological foundation. Prof, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council chaired the event.

The contest is held by the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics in collaboration with the Central Commission for Communication, Education and Mass Mobilisation, the Central Theoretical Council, the Communist Review, Nhan Dan Newspaper, the Vietnam Journalists Association and Vietnam Television.

The purpose of the competition is to continue affirming the important role of protecting the Party’s ideological foundation and countering incorrect and hostile viewpoints, particularly as the entire Party, armed forces and people are accelerating efforts to bring the country into an era of strong development, prosperity and affluence.

Eligible participants include Vietnamese people at home and abroad, as well as foreign nationals with works meeting the contest's criteria.

Speaking at the press conference, Prof, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairmanof the Central Theoretical Council emphasised that over its previous four editions, the contest has firmly established its position, role and prestige.

The submitted works have explained and affirmed the country’s achievements while providing arguments and effective approaches to promote the Party’s policies, particularly strategic resolutions.

Prof, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang called for broad participation from cadres and Party members, especially youth union members, as well as Vietnamese scholars and intellectuals abroad and foreigners who hold Vietnam in high regard.
