Enhancing leadership skills for Vietnam’s public sector

Graduation ceremony of the “Public and International Affairs Strategic Leadership Certificate” short course was held in Hanoi on May 24th, 2024 .

Twenty Vietnamese leaders successfully completed the “Public and International Affairs Strategic Leadership Certificate” short course, returning to their agencies, better equipped with new knowledge and leadership skills to respond to regional and international issues.

This is a flagship course of the Vietnam Australia Centre which aims to bolster the effectiveness of leadership and management within the public sector to operate in a rapidly changing international affairs environment.

Participants joined knowledge exchange activities with Vietnamese and Australian public policy experts in Hanoi, Ha Long, and Perth to expand their understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion, cohesion in the workplace, and using data in policymaking.

Participants visited the Parliament of Western Australia as part of their training in Australia

Participants present their workplace application projects.

Throughout the course, participants gained an understanding of different leadership theories and self-leadership concepts, increasing their understanding of strategic policymaking and foreign policy analysis. Participants also developed projects to apply their new knowledge in the workplace, a valuable practical outcome from this course.
