Information of the doctoral thesis: “Credit risk control at commercial banks of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic”

Summary of the new results of the thesis:

New academic and theoretical contributions: 

On the basis of inheriting and absorbing the resutls of published research works, the thesis studies the issue of credit risk control at commercial banks in Laos from the perspective of political economy. At the same time, the thesis introduces the concept of controlling credit risk control at commercial banks, pointing out that 03 role of controlling the Lao People’s Democratic Republic on the economy; determine control of credit risk control at commercial banks, including 02 contents: control of credit risk control from the state and control of credit risk control from the side of commercial banks, giving criteria for evaluating the control of credit risk control at Lao commercial banks according to 02 contents mentioned above; the thesis also clarifies 02 groups factors affecting the control of credit risk control at Lao commercial banks.

New points drawn from the research results:

The thesis analyzes and assesses the current situation of credit risk control at commercial banks of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic according to 2 groups of contents: credit risk control at commercial banks from the State’s perspective and credit risk control at commercial banks. From there, the thesis assesses the results achieved in the control of credit risk control at Lao commercial banks in the period of 2018-2023; point out the limitations and the causes of the limitations.

On the basis of the resutls of the analysis and assessment of the current situation in chapter 3, based on the directions and objectives set out by the government and the state bank of Laos on the control of credit risk control at commercial banks, the thesis proposes 2 groups with 6 most suitable solutions to strengthen the control of redit risk control at commercial banks of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic by 2030, vision 2045./.
