Introducing the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics to the Lemhannas delegation, Prof, Dr Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, and Chairman of the Central Theory Council stated that the Academy trains and nurtures key officials for both the central and local levels of Vietnam, a role similar to that of Lemhannas.

Dr Ace Hasan Syadzily, Governor of Lemhannas of Indonesia said the purpose of this visit was to exchange views and learn about Vietnam’s education system transformation, a source of reference for Indonesia to develop high-quality human resources to serve the development goals for 2045.

He also shared that Lemhannas is a national-level strategic training institution under the President of Indonesia, tasked with training and preparing a generation of national leaders with a comprehensive, integrated, and professional vision. The participants in the national leadership capacity-building programme visiting the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics this time include senior military officers, police officials, government officials, and business leaders.

The Lemhannas Governor emphasised that Indonesia highly values Vietnam’s significant economic achievements and hopes that the two countries will strengthen cooperation to develop a high-quality workforce.

Overview of the event

Prof, Dr Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, and Chairman of the Central Theory Council emphasised that the Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee has issued a resolution on education development based on the principles of an open, modern, and connected education system with outcomes used to assess quality. For higher education, the focus is on building a flexible labour market grounded in science and technology. To formalise cooperation in personnel training and development between the two countries, as well as between the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Lemhannas, the Vietnamese official suggested that the international cooperation units of both sides create a priority cooperation framework and prepare to sign a memorandum of understanding. Focal areas should include collaboration in training, research, policy dialogue, expert exchanges, and the sharing of publications.

Dr Ace Hasan Syadzily, Governor of Lemhannas of Indonesia agreed with this proposal and expressed the hope to promote more concrete cooperation, including student exchanges, policy research, and organisation of working visits. These activities will help enhance mutual understanding of the countries' public administration models, foreign policies, and regional security governance policies.

After the meeting, the delegations of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Lemhannas held a dialogue to discuss Vietnam’s education system transformation aimed at building a high-quality workforce to serve the development goals for 2045, as well as experiences, policies, and cooperation models in training and developing high-quality human resources./.
