10 OUTSTANDING EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES OF THE HO CHI MINH NATIONAL ACADEMY OF POLITICS IN 2025

The Electronic Information Portal of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics is honoured to present 10 outstanding events and activities of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics in 2025:

1. Successfully organizing the 15th Congress of Delegates of the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics for the 2025–2030 term. The Congress approved important documents and elected a Party Executive Committee consisting of 32 members representing 3,608 Party members of the Academy’s Party Committee. The Congress Resolution clearly identified objectives, orientations, tasks, solutions, and development breakthroughs to build the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics with strong identity, modernity, and integration in the new era of national development.

2. Taking the lead and setting an example in implementing the policy of renewal, reorganization, and streamlining of the organizational apparatus of the political system. The Academy proactively reviewed and streamlined its organizational structure; carried out the merger of the National Academy of Public Administration; assumed responsibility for the Central Theoretical Council; took over the functions and tasks of the Scientific Council of Party Committees, and the Central Council for Literary and Artistic Theory and Criticism; provided professional and technical guidance during the consolidation and merger of the system of provincial and municipal political schools under central authority, contributing significantly to the successful reorganization from 63 schools to 34 schools. In recognition of the high sense of responsibility and dedicated contributions of the entire Academy system, on behalf of Party and State leaders, General Secretary To Lam awarded the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics the First-Class Labor Order.

3. The Academy successfully coordinated t o organize important knowledge-updating programs of the Party and the State, such as training and knowledge-updating courses for strategic-level officials; knowledge-updating courses for leaders of central ministries, sectors, and leaders at commune, ward, and special administrative zone levels nationwide. At the same time, the Academy strongly renewed the content of training and refresher programs in line with the new organizational structure of the political system, the two-tier local government model, and the content of the draft Documents of the 14th National Party Congress.

4. Closely coordinating with the Central Theoretical Council, the Academy made important contributions to the development of draft Documents of the 14th National Party Congress, especially the draft Political Report and the draft Report summarizing a number of theoretical and practical issues on the socialist-oriented renovation process over the past 40 years in Vietnam; actively contributing to draft congress documents of Party committees under central authority; successfully completing key national-level scientific programs KX.02/21-25 and KX.04/21-25, along with many key ministerial-level scientific programs, projects, research topics, and major scientific conferences, thereby providing valuable scientific arguments and policy recommendations for the Party and the State.

5. The Academy successfully chaired the organization of the 5th Political Theory Contest on protecting the Party’s ideological foundation in 2025, attracting the largest number of participating cadres, Party members, and citizens to date. The contest became a broad and in-depth political activity throughout the Party, the army, and the people; an effective and creative method to mobilize forces and build a “people’s heart and mind posture” in protecting the Party’s ideological foundation.

6. Successfully organizing the 6th Excellent Lecturer Contest of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and the 9th National Excellent Lecturer Contest for provincial and municipal political schools under central authority. The contests were organized methodically, rigorously, and scientifically, ensuring compliance with established objectives, requirements, and regulations, thereby creating a vibrant and enthusiastic emulation atmosphere that strongly spread among Academy lecturers and political schools, contributing to improving the quality of teaching and learning of political theory.

7. The Academy’s external relations and international cooperation activities continued to be strengthened. The number of outbound delegations and international delegations visiting and working at the Academy reached the highest level ever. The Academy successfully organized many important training and refresher programs for officials of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party; research survey and thematic exchange programs with senior leaders and managers of the Russian Federation, the MPLA Party of Angola, and the FRELIMO Party of Mozambique; and a public sector reform knowledge exchange program with Australia. These activities were highly appreciated by partners and international friends, thereby contributing to enhancing Vietnam’s position and prestige in the international arena.

8. The Academy chaired and coordinated with the Central Inspection Commission to establish the Center for Research and Training in Party Inspection Work. The Center serves as a specialized focal point for theoretical research and practical review of Party inspection, supervision, and discipline; provides scientific arguments for developing and improving Party regulations in this field; and participates in training and capacity-building for inspection and supervision personnel to meet requirements and tasks in the new revolutionary period.

9. The Academy effectively carried out social welfare activities, promoting the tradition of mutual support and solidarity. Within a short period of time, the Academy launched three donation campaigns mobilizing all staff, lecturers, and trainees to join hands in support, clearly demonstrating social responsibility, humanitarian spirit, and shared compassion for the great difficulties and losses suffered by people in localities affected by natural disasters.

10. Physical infrastructure and digital transformation continued to be invested in, upgraded, and developed in a synchronized manner, achieving breakthrough progress. The Academy gradually put into operation and use new dormitory and lecture hall facilities throughout the system; received and effectively utilized facilities of the National Academy of Public Administration, and arranged appropriate infrastructure for the received units. At the same time, the Academy was approved for investment in developing a new campus in Hanoi. The Academy organized the groundbreaking ceremony for the National Political–Administrative Academy in Southern Laos and completed the Smart Academy construction project, creating an important foundation for modernizing training, scientific research, and management activities in the new development stage.
