Summaryof the new findingsof the dissertation:
New academic and theoretical contributions:
Building on the theoretical foundations developed by previous scholars and applying Pierre Bourdieu’s theory of different forms of capital and their conversion, the dissertation conceptualizes cultural heritage not only as a value to be preserved but also as a form of cultural capital that can be mobilized and transformed into resources for socio-economic development through the preservation, utilization, and promotion of heritage values. In doing so, the dissertation contributes to supplementing and clarifying the theoretical foundations concerning the relationship between cultural heritage and socio-economic development from the perspective of Cultural Studies.
