Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics organizes opening ceremony of the 2022-2023 academic year

Attendees of the opening ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, HCMA President, and Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council; members of the Party Central Committee; leaders of ministries, departments, and central and local organizations; leaders and former leaders of the Academy; representatives of the units directly under the Academy; leaders of political schools in centrally-run cities and provinces; lecturers and students of the Academy. The opening ceremony was held in person at the Academy and online at its affiliated academies and 64 political schools in centrally-run cities and provinces. Party and State leaders attend the opening ceremony of the Academy’s 2022-2023 academic year Speaking at the opening ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang emphasized that with the motto “students are the centre, the school is the foundation, and lecturers are the driving force”, HCMA directed closely, synchronously, and effectively the implementation of training and fostering classes as planned in the 2021-2022 academic year. Simultaneously, the Academy ensured constant innovation and continuously improved the quality of training and fostering political theory as required in Resolution No. 32 by the Politburo and in accordance with Regulation No. 57 dated on 8th February 2022 by the Secretariat on subjects, standards, and decentralization of training on political theory. Participants and students salute the flags before the opening ceremony of the new academic year HCMA proactively used new advanced political theory textbooks for teaching and updated content in training courses for professional titles with new perspectives in the Documents of the 13th National Party Congress, resolutions, and conclusions in the meetings of the 13th Party Central Committee, as well as new domestic and international theories and practices. Training and fostering courses were re-structured so that students and lecturers interacted with each other, actively discussed, and attached great importance to solving emerging practical problems. Besides, the Academy issued and implemented synchronously and consistently a system of regulations in admitting and training students in advanced political theory courses and in doctoral and master’s programs, regulations for foreign students, and on online training. Politburo member Vo Van Thuong makes a speech in the opening ceremony of the new academic year Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang emphasized that the 2022-2023 academic year is a pivotal year to implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress. He affirmed that with the motto “Proactiveness - Synchronization - Breakthrough - Discipline - Quality - Efficiency”, the Academy would continue to update the curriculum and teaching method that closely follow work requirements; promote the Party building; build a contingent of cadres, especially those at the strategic level who are capable of meeting practical requirements and carry out tasks for socio-economic recovery to ensure social security and safety after the Covid-19 pandemic in accordance with resolutions, conclusions, and directives of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat of the 13th term. Agreeing with directions and tasks of the new academic year presented by Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Mr. Vo Van Thuong asked the Academy to implement actively and synchronously to create breakthroughs in all aspects of work in the upcoming time in correspondence with the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the 13th Party Central Committee meetings. Activities of the Academy such as training, scientific research, consulting, policy advisory, and international cooperation must clearly demonstrate the stature, intelligence, identity, position, role, and importance of the highest-ranked Party school. He also requested students who come from all over the country to study and practice at the Academy to constantly train political skills and spirit; cultivate revolutionary ideals and ethics; identify studying as an honor, a duty, a right, and a responsibility; well implement the motto of combining theory taught at school with lively practices in the society; closely link between learning and practicing. Mr. Vo Van Thuong expressed his belief that with a long tradition accumulated through 73 years of building and development and generations of scientists having professional qualifications, devotion, and strong political skills and spirit, the Academy would certainly accomplish its tasks in the 2022-2023 academic year, thereby making a greater contribution to the cause of the national construction and defense./.
