The doctoral thesis: "Attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) into the tourism industry in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic" of PhD candidate Sin Thone Keokhampheng, major in Political Economy, training course: 37 (2021-2024).

New academics and theoretical contributions: 

The thesis adds knowledge about the relationship between FDI and tourism, analyzing the impact of FDI on different aspects of the tourism industry in the Lao People’s Republic.

Providing knowledge, data and scientific analysis to support state management agencies in developing and implementing effective FDI attraction policies, assessing the impact of FDI on the tourism industry in the Republic of Lao People’s Democracy, helping stakeholders understand the benefits, limitations and problems needs to be resolved. 

New points drawn from research and survey results: 

The research results of the thesis will contribute to raising community awareness of the role of FDI in tourism development in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, contributing to promoting sustainable tourism development in Laos, protecting the environment, culture and interests of local communities.

The thesis contributes to identifying the trend of attracting FDI for tourism in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic until 2030. These views contribute to a nimber of solutions to improve the effectivenes of attracting and using FDI in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic. The Lao People’s Government has the right direction and objective rules to implement. Propose solutions to increase attractions and improve the efficiency of using FDI capital for the tourism industry in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.
