On the afternoon of February 24, 2025, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA) held the Opening Ceremony for the Advanced Training Course on Marxist-Leninist Classics and Ho Chi Minh Thought (KĐ25.02). The course is designed for researchers and lecturers from the Academy's system, as well as political schools of provinces and centrally governed cities. Assoc. Prof. Dr Duong Trung Y, Vice President of the Academy, attended and presided over the ceremony.
The scene of the event
Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr Duong Trung Y emphasized that studying the Marxist-Leninist classic works is both a self-motivated and mandatory task. It helps educators and learners to access the foundational theories, clarify the principles and viewpoints presented by the classical theorists, and thereby contribute to improving the quality of political theory research and teaching in particular, as well as theoretical work in general.
The Vice President of the Academy emphasized that studying Marxist-Leninist classics and Ho Chi Minh Thought has always been a priority for the HCMA and provincial political schools. In today's context, lecturers and researchers need new approaches and ways of thinking to truly understand the core ideas of these classic works. This will help improve teaching and research quality, strengthen their political stance, and maintain the principles of Party school educators and revolutionaries.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Duong Trung Y encouraged participants to take their learning seriously to make the study of these classic works more effective and to enhance the skills of lecturers and researchers of the Academy and political schools from provinces and centrally-governed cities, protect the Party's ideology, and counter wrong and hostile views. He urged them to be responsible and set an example as Party members, manage their time well, actively absorb the knowledge shared by lecturers, and apply it to their teaching and research. He also stressed the importance of using these lessons to defend the Party’s ideology and challenge misleading viewpoints.
The training program consists of six thematic modules focused on the foundational knowledge from 44 classic works by Marx, Engels, Lenin, and Ho Chi Minh. Additionally, there are 14 discussion sessions led by experienced professors and scholars from the HCMA.

During the intensive study period, participants are required to complete 19 analytical notes, four review essays on selected works, one graduation thesis, and one field research trip. Through this training course, participants will have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of classical theories and political ideology. The course also helps lecturers of political schools enhance their expertise and meet the professional standards required for lecturers in the standardized political school system under the Academy.
