On the morning of April 24, 2025, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics organized a scientific seminar on the theme: “Perspectives and Solutions for Continuing to Research, Apply, and Creatively Develop Ho Chi Minh's Thought in Environmental Protection and Climate Change Response.”

Overview of the seminar

Delivering the opening remarks and introductory speech, Prof. Dr. Le Van Loi, Vice President of the Academy, emphasized that grounded in Marxism–Leninism and Ho Chi Minh's Thought, the Party and State of Vietnam have long paid attention and issued many sound policies and guidelines on environmental protection and climate change response. The documents of the 13th National Party Congress clearly affirmed the viewpoint: “Making the protection of the living environment and public health the top priority; resolutely eliminating projects that cause environmental pollution; ensuring the quality of the living environment; preserving biodiversity and ecosystems; and building a green economy, a circular economy, and an environmentally friendly economy.”

In recent years, practical outcomes show that environmental protection efforts in Vietnam have achieved many positive results. Awareness of environmental protection among different levels, sectors, businesses, and citizens has been steadily enhanced. These achievements in environmental protection and climate change response in recent years have resulted from various subjective and objective factors. However, it can be affirmed that these results are, in part, the outcome of the ongoing research, application, and creative development of Ho Chi Minh's Thought in this area, shared Prof. Dr. Le Van Loi.

At the seminar, scholars engaged in open exchanges to clarify the achievements, limitations, and underlying causes in the research, application, and creative development of Ho Chi Minh's Thought on environmental protection and climate change response by our Party over the past period. Alongside analyzing the results already achieved, delegates also provided candid and objective feedback on the contents of the reports, pointing out remaining shortcomings, thereby suggesting specific directions for revision in order to improve the reports.
