Training Workshop on Human Rights Education for Teachers from Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak, and Lam Dong Provinces

From January 14–16, 2026, in Nha Trang Ward, Khanh Hoa Province, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, in coordination with the Australian Human Rights Commission, organized a training workshop on human rights education for 60 kindergarten, primary, and lower secondary school teachers from the three provinces of Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak, and Lam Dong.

Notably, the training program also saw the participation of 06 officials from the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission and the Ministry of Education of Ethiopia, who joined the sessions to study and exchange experiences on human rights education practices in Vietnam.

At the training course, teachers were divided by three education levels and participated in learning sessions directly taught by lecturers and experts from both domestic and international institutions.

The training content focused on introducing an overview of human rights education in the education curriculum; clarifying concepts, principles, and core values of human rights; analyzing formal equality and substantive equality; inclusive education for children with disabilities; the legal framework and responsibilities of stakeholders in ensuring human rights; protection of human rights in the school environment; as well as the integration of human rights education into Vietnam’s national education curriculum.

A highlight of the program was the practical activities, in which teachers directly developed and presented sample lesson plans on human rights education by education level, while also exchanging feedback and suggestions to improve teaching methods and classroom content.
