Today, 16 of Vietnam’s emerging leaders shared how they have applied their new skills in their workplaces after attending a course on Public and International Affairs Strategic Leadership.

Delegates at the event

The course was a wonderful opportunity for Vietnamese and Australian counterparts, including senior executives and experts from across Australia’s public, private, and not-for-profit sectors, to engage in panel discussions, group exercises, and industry visits. The course has inspired participants to lead the way towards a more sustainable, prosperous and inclusive future.

Course participant Dr Nguyen Thi Minh Hien, Dean of the Faculty of Public Relations and Advertising – Academy of Journalism and Communication, noted, “I found the concepts of strategic thinking, vision, inspirational leadership, and adaptability particularly insightful. These are all highly relevant in the context of a rapidly changing world, where we must continuously recognise change and develop problem-solving skills for the modern era.”

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Ms Renee Deschamps, Deputy Head of the Australian Embassy said: “This course signifies the enduring partnership between Australia and Vietnam through shared commitment to human resource development under our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Australia is proud to contribute to the strengthening of civil sector leadership.”

Training and field visits in Australia

The VAC is a dynamic training, research, and knowledge exchange hub between Vietnam and Australia. It brings together experts from both countries to support Vietnam’s future leaders in addressing national, regional, and global challenges.

Participants of this course came from the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, the External Relations Commission of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Office of the Government.
